To whom it may concern:
I was wondering if you would be able to publicize this in a newsletter or
something of the sort for our upcoming event:
Formosa Betrayed: A Hollywood Take on Taiwan
Date: Wednesday, February 3, 2010
Time: 9:00-10:30 PM
Location: Lerner Cinema
RSVP: as3239@barnard.edu
Description: Filmmaker, activist and former White House negotiator Will
Tiao presents a look at Taiwan's politics, conspiracies and scandals from a
unique insider's perspective. His years of research into the brutal techniques
once employed by the Republic of China government to silence Taiwan democracy
supporters has become the basis for the controversial new film Formosa
Betrayed.
Starring James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek) and Will
Tiao and directed by Adam Kane (Heroes), Formosa Betrayed marks the very first
time an American movie has explored the contentious issue of Taiwan
independence. Tiao will discuss the true events that inspired the film as well
as the challenges faced in bringing these stories to the big screen.
Additionally, Tiao will preview exclusive footage from Formosa Betrayed and
answers questions from the audience.
Formosa Betrayed opens Friday, February 26, 2010 in New York.
